Jackie Heinze, M.F.A., has been facilitating creative writing workshops from her home in Highland Park, Los Angeles, since 2016. She had long imagined herself as a teacher, and then, when she realized she was her happiest self when sitting around a table of writers, she began pursuing her fantasy of one day hosting her own workshops. Write On Writers’ Workshop has far exceeded her humble dream.

According to Jackie, what’s better than experienced and aspiring writers working on the art of storytelling and sharing that process with other writers who offer insight and support? Not much.

In addition to earning her M.F.A. in Creative Writing, Jackie was once a professional copy editor. She is skilled in providing feedback that is both about story development and structure, as well as about syntax and grammar. She wants you to be the writer you want to be and will push you toward your goal while also recognizing and appreciating where you are now and the work you are doing.

Jackie’s personal essays have been published in The Tishman Review, Hippocampus, Watershed Review, Sliver of Stone, and other literary journals. Also a screenwriter, Jackie writes for an independent production company, Jarrett Creative, and has developed content and written scripts for Oxygen and Lifetime. She teaches in the Screenwriting Program at UCLA Extension.

Jackie lives in Los Angeles with her husband, production designer Kyle Kinsella, their son, a young Renaissance man in the making, and their mellow dog who spends his days at Jackie’s feet, snoring and farting, while she offers feedback and guidance to fellow writers.
